As the trio continue to talk, there is a sudden sound of chuffing from the line to the Offices as the Fowler locomotive trundles down the line and comes to a halt outside the Goods Shed.
The driver clambers down, unaware of the three strangers. The driver is Corporal Emily Stirling, and as she moves away to the barracks, she says gently to herself. "Oh, Lt. Billings! You've stolen my heart! I do hope that you get my message!" And she silently closes the barrack room door behind her, as her engine slowly cools and becomes non-operational for the night.

Renfield sees the train coming. "Ah, it looks like everything is going according to plan. We're meeting a lot less resistence than I anticipated. And the sooner I get you and your two dimwitted partners on your ship and off Genus, the better; you're getting heavy!"
Croaker then watches Corporal Stirling pass by without noticing the small group. As she goes into the shed he says, puzzled, "No wonder the UAC is doomed. If it's this easy to escape with a Political Officer as your hostage. I don't know whether to laugh or cry!"
Turning to the Stormtoads, he says, "All right boys, go and get that train started and put 'er in reverse!"
The Stormtoads saluted, then jogged over to the engine, clambering aboard, and becoming immediately stumped as to how to get it started. They stood there staring dumbly at all the levers and switches.
"Uh-oh," said one, "look at all the levers!"
"Yeah, lots of 'em!" agreed the second.
"Which one we should pull...?"

In the darkness, the zigzagging railway lines appear to lead into nothing but the sheer black of night, when...
A faint train whistle is heard in the distance, shrieking like a lost soul. At the sound of it, the troops in the barracks panic, and turn off all lights and not to mention draw the curtains. From one of the tracks comes an enormous steam locomotive, hauling two old carriages behind it. The entire train is translucent, almost a pale white. As the engine slows to a stop, several screams of agony can be heard quite distinctly from the wheels. With a hiss of steam, the ghostly train immediately comes to a halt in front of the Fowler, waiting for a response from the three train-robbers...
OOC: The locomotive is similar to Jupiter, an engine used on the Transcontinental Railroad.

"Uhhh," said Croaker, stupified. "What is this?"
"I don't know," admitted Renfield. "I've never seen this train before in my life."

From the cab of the engine comes what appears to be the shape of a ferret, holding an oil-lamp. The figure blows into it, and the lamp glows a dim red light. With the aid of the lamp, the features of the ferret can be seen. He is dressed in a flowing purple cape, as well as the old uniform of a railroad conductor. His face is nothing more than mangled brown fur with two green pupils for eyes. He walks up to the cab and speaks to the three crooks.
"I hear you want to reach Genus Hangar," he speaks in a strange European tone of voice. "My train happens to be heading virtually the same way. Would you care for a lift, Dr. Croaker?"

"I think I'll take my chances by myself," Croaker said sternly, then paused, blinking. "Wait... how did you know my name?" He then shook his head.
"We don't have time for this," he hissed. "Any minute now, more armed guards will be responding to the silent alarm the guard in the cell block has undoubtedly tripped by now." He yelled over his shoulder. "Get that engine started, you wart brains!"
"We working on it!" said one bulky Stormtoad, poking his head out from the engine.
Renfield, for his part, kept silent, unsure if this ferret was friendly or not. If he knew who Dr. Croaker was, did he know who - and what - he was? His thoughts were interrupted when suddenly, by some miracle, the Stormtoads managed to get the train started, and he inwardly sighed with relief, but kept up the facade of wide-eyed terror for the benefit of the ferret conductor.
"Sorry, Mister Whoever-You-Are," Croaker said, maneuvering Renfield towards the other train as the Stormtoads yelled for them to come on, "but your locomotive is a little too spooky for my tastes. Besides, I already learned my lesson not to trust friendly mammals offering me rides in their trains!"

"Even if that mammal could simply tell the UAC every detail about all four of you if I wanted?" the ferret scowls. Clicking his fingers, the engine immediately comes to a stop. Walking up to the side of the stationary locomotive, the ferrets' front teeth suddenly grow into fangs, and his eyes glow a demonic red colour. "I think you'll find my friends that I know more about you than you could possibly imagine, and if I wanted, I could kill you now and be done with you." His eyes seem to be fixated on Renfield, with a look stating that he knows Renfields' secret...

Apparently sensing that this ferret knows everything about them, Croaker decides there's no reason to pretend any more and hops down from Renfield's back. Both he and the mammal imposter are then taken aback at the sudden change in the ferret, both in his attitude towards them and his appearance.
Renfield began to feel extremely uncomfortable as the ferret's eyes seem to bore into him. "All right," he said. When Croaker opened his mouth to protest, Renfield held up his hand to silence the toad scientist before turning back to the ferret. "We'll go with you. But only because time is of the utmost essence."
"And you'd better no doublecross us!" Croaker warned, although at this point it was all he could do to sound even remotely tough.

"Oh, no Croaker," the ferret sneers. "It is more like you shouldn't doublecross me." He answers, and by some unknown force, he literally floats back to his own engine.

"Why do I get the feeling this guy's got something to back his tremendous ego up?" muttered Renfield as he, Croaker, and the Stormtoads reluctantly followed the ferret.
OOC: On a side note, I'm surprised Stirling hasn't taken notice of any of this, particularly the Stormtoads starting the train up. Is she asleep, or is the shed soundproof? XD

Sitting in the shadows, a hare in black leather is watching all this. His eyes are feircely locked on the ferret and tehy burn with hatred as the fangs grew from the ferret's mouth. He glances at teh hare adn three toads as well.
"Oh trust me, fellow hare. He can back up his ego." The hare thought as he watched the ferret float back to his train.
He sits there with his hands on a set of twin swords, watching and waiting for the moment.
"OUr battle has waged for years, Nosferretu, but i am still alive and i swer by the ANcient Order, i won't stop hunting you, until either you are dead or i am dead!" He thinks as he keeps watching.
His black fur and leathers blends in nicely with the shadows, as does teh black visor covering his bright green eyes.

Immediately reading Renfields' mind, the ferret simply answers "Yes, Lieutenant. No-one can hear us. I have haunted this railway for years, and I have learnt to block out any soundwaves before they can reach those barracks."
Nestling down on the footplate of his engine, he points a long, flexing finger down the string of carriages. "You will sit in one of these carriages. I shall be back to offer you refreshment once we are underway." However, when the ferret mentioned 'refreshment', of course he meant refreshment for himself, and not his passengers.

After a moments thought, the hare makes a choice. His hand flicks from teh sword handle and send a small shuriken streaking towards one of the large toads. It sticks into the upper leg and sinks deep.
"Deal with teh pain, toad! It is better than trusting that ferret!" The Hare thinks as he silently moves to a new location.

The ferrets head spins towards the darkness from where the blade came from. Sniffing the air with his dead nose, the ferret murmurs "So he has found me."

"That's right, fang face." THE hare hisses from the darkness. "Do you really think that after sixty five years, i would stop? Apparently my tips to Owlsing weren't good enough!"
The sound of a sword being drawn out of a steel sheath is heard resonating from teh darkness.
Yelling to Renfield and the taods, "Don't trust this demon! He would rather feed on you than help you!" The hare yells, in hopes of saving at least the hare's neck.
