Present. Definitely. Anything we do in the past could only screw up the timeline.

Alright, its 2-1 for the present so far. We need at least one more vote.

Hi guys,
I'm rather interested in what Brian has up his sleeves... My vote is for present purely because it'd be easier for me to make a character for that but if we go past then so be it. Research is always fun anyway!

Alright! Voting over. Present wins 3-1. Now we need a scenario. All ideas welcome.

hum... how about a dramatic opening on a toad ship to get used to things. we could be some kind of assault squad taking the ship for some purpose or another... a party which answers to a higher authority seems to be a good way to start running. gives the gm the ability to steer things if they feel the need but stays in context.

I don't mean specific stories, I mean what sort of characters do you want to be using?

This I might be able to join. Free form, I'm tapped outta time for, hence why I have to drop that. Something moderated though... I should be able to squeeze out some time for.
The whole problem I'm having with freeform is that people like Norris and Psyko (and sometime Koosh) are able to post immeditly after each other. I, on the other hand, am stuck at my job for 8 hours, and busy with many other duties weekends and evenings. Not 24/7, but enough that sometimes a whole new page will be posted and I'll have to backtrack and read what happend and try to catch up.
(No offense to you three, just stating an observation)

I was thinking of being a cat with magic gems. I w nt to be a little subtle but not too much so. I'd like to be able to do some damage but have some degree of inteligence still.
I don't know how you're building characters but my emphasis would be social, then physical and mental bottom.

Just a concept for now but bear in mind we might develop a scenario where such a character really wouldn't fit. When I say 'what sort' I mean what faction, what style. I don't want their shoe size.

On with the research it is then. I'll try and get through the dvd this weekend...

A scenario ... well, shoot. I'm short of new ideas, but the vigilante/privateer suggestion I made earlier is presumably still on the table. Someone who fights the good fight, but plays by their own rules.

A mercenary group, based on a frigate. A UAC group, based on a frigate. A marine group, primarily ground based. A merchant ship with a variety of character types. Any of the above set in the recent past. I thought it might be interesting to set it during the first Toad war or the rise of KOMPLEX.
Suggestions in by the end of this week, votes by the end of the next week.

I'm still doing my research but i'd probably go for the merchant ship for the variety on offer. Being a toad could also be interesting... based on a fighter or similar. very restricted on character choice that way though.

I like the frigate options, but then thats only cause I like being an engineer and cause I wanna say "I've given her all I can Cap'n, and I canna give her no more!"
(kidding aside, merchant ship just doesn't feel like it has the same amount of action as a frigate does)
