How about having robotic weaponry in their disposal just like the APU in Matrix 3?

Chairman Warner would say, "Well, you could build a giant golden statue of me in center square. I'm sure that would help."
But he would be joking. Probably.

I definitely think there needs to be more ships in the fleet, personally.

After reading the responses on the poll and shaking my head at DJ's response, even though finding it humorous since i could see Fritz saying that. I have chosen not to vote for any of those options.
Honestly i would have to say, 1) THey need to get Genus back from the toads and 2) Get teh council to relax their death grip on the budget! After these two are accomplished, then most of the options above would be a wise choice.
Or we could let the senior writers use some fan fiction ideas and really stir up things on Genus!

Yes, they would need to get Genus back, but I'm looking at the UAC before the huge invasion a little while back. The poll here is just a list of options that would make the UAC a little more formidable to the Toad Empire. Three UAC Frigates can't really be called a fleet (No offence), and I agree with Admiral Hudson's idea of commissioning more battleships.

Or we could let the senior writers use some fan fiction ideas and really stir up things on Genus! Psykorabbit2000 Allow me to clarify how this works: The web series is, technically, fanfiction, in that it's fiction written by fans of the TV series. While it's all well and good and certainly good for my ego if you put us on a pedestal, that's all we are. Fanfic writers. The difference between our work and the stuff that appears on the fanfic page is that our stuff appears on a different .html page, and that we have some kind of vision of what we'd like to do and we get all hoity-toity about it, as I imagine other fanfic writers also do. If you want to submit to the web series, you're welcome to do so, at the risk of course that we politely tell you no, we don't need 10 new characters right now, which is what a lot of submissions offer us. There have been some really good submissions and guest writers, some of whom have gone on to be senior writers.

It's alright, I wasn't asking to join, anyway. In any case, why would 10 characters suddenly pop up in the midst of a full-scale planetary invasion? As I've already said, these polls are simply suggestions, and I don't really intend to make them practical.

As I've already said, these polls are simply suggestions, and I don't really intend to make them practical. In response to this and the general poll of this thread: There is a practical reason why the UAC doesn't expand its fleet beyond three lousy frigates. You see, the web series has characters. Lots and lots of characters. Way too many characters to properly deal with. If the UAC added another ship or 10 ships or 20 ships, it would get completely ridiculous. Granted, we could just have "and these 20 ships with their individual crews are doing off and doing things and we're not discussing them any further!" as a plotline, but in the web series we've really tried to follow the focus of the television show, which was about three frigates trying desperately to fight the onslaught of the toad empire. Writing the web series is a constant balance between developing new ideas and keeping with the spirit of the TV series, which is why we don't just go kill off all the useless TV series characters they handed us (Bruiser and Blinky, I'm looking at you). We don't really make an effort to keep in spirit with the graphic novel, because the graphic novel sucked and made no sense.

You can say that again. I seriously doubt Jenny would go through a lengthy discussion about not using her powers in front of others but does just that shortly afterward. I can see your point on the vast amount of characters, though, Admiral.

The problem is that with writing a series like this is that the cast can grow too big and you wouldn't be developing many of the characters, as it would take too long and you end up with 30 or so 2D characters with little depth.
I think it's better to develop the characters you have than slow the story down.

I try my best to develop some characters, but the trouble is thinking up of a lifestory for them without getting too complicated.
For instance, I first created Corporal Kingston of the Genus Home Guard simply as a parody of Lance-Corporal Jones from DAD'S ARMY. Eventually, he got his starring role as one of only two mammal war-heroes from The First Toad War (You might want to see the discussion THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ST on that).
In some cases, when there are too many characters, I keep the old ones to keep the storylines pure, but kill off the new characters who don't play a good enough role, at which the "Gammorian Ghostbusters" and Brigadier Martin are good examples, as I only used them as background characters following their debuts.

Ah, I see now. While we're on the subject, Admiral, is Mimi still finding Fritz dishy besides the fact she broke her...Ok, bad question. But all the same, who exactly is this Nuras chap? It is never said what species he's supposed to be, not to mention what planet he represents. Hare? Dog? Fox? Lizard, even?
