Nearly all the discussions on here now are about the toys or the comics. Namely, how to get them. Is the fandom for the once much-celebrated Web Series truly dead? How can we put the juice back into it?

I certainly wish I knew! Without anything new on the horizon, I think most of the discussions worth having have already been had. (That was a weird sentence.) I still hope that someday, some new official Bucky O'Hare content is released.

Also, the site appears to be down for some reason - does anyone know why?

Probably just a temporary hiccup. The site is still live, and I've actually got an update coming in the next week or so.

The community has dwindled to a handful of people, and I agree that pretty much everything that CAN be said HAS been said. The only thing I can think of is if there were some site-wide project we all invested in. Remember back when Shocker Toys asked the fans for input on a new toyline? THAT really fired things up. Like, one idea I've been batting around is making retro-style playsets. Something that used plastic pieces, cardboard pieces, and a bit of imagination. Think this kind of thing: www.rebelscum.com/Kenner/PS-DeathStar1/header.jpgI say retro-style because that combo of plastic and printing on cardboard seems like it would actually be mildly feasible, compared to actually making action figures. So I wonder if it would add some fuel to the site if we worked together in designing, researching, and ultimately building some playsets? Especially since, like you said, people are mostly interested in toys right now. There are probably some legal issues, but I have a feeling this would be small enough to not be worth anyone's trouble. I mean, how many people would possibly be interested in buying something like that? 10? 15? And if not playsets, SOME kind of project we could all put our brains around. Something that wouldn't ultimately fall on the shoulders of one or people, like a comic or cartoon would. -JJ

Guess what, just finished the web series - what a read! Ever thought of adding anything more to the 'canon' of the web series?

Sadly, it was when the web series started to die out, is when the web site started to begin its downward spiral to what it is today. I see we still get guest on here.
One thing that might start building an interest is to do another web series. Get some new writers, since pretty much most of the old ones are gone. Find a new starting point and go from there. I know i don't pop in as much as i use to, but i do still look in one this old site at times. I remember we had a lot of web series writers and we had fan fic writers too. We had some great artists as well. The main thing that kept the site going a lot was the web series.

I wish we could have kept the Web Series going indefinitely, but life gets in the way. When I joined the team, I was a college student with plenty of free time, and now I'm a real adult with real responsibilities (sigh).
We don't own Bucky O'Hare, just our Web Series content. If anyone wanted to make their own Web Series from scratch, we wouldn't stop them.
For what it's worth, the fanfic section is still opening and accepting submissions!
