* The radio crackles into life yeat again and a rather anxious toad speaks into rapid nervous voice *
"Urgent transmission recieved from Komplex.. There is a secret mammalian weapon being developed onboard the orbital dock... New orders are to seize this new battleship for reverse engineering back in toad space..."

Closing the door to the bay, the Toad Slace Ship flies off into space. Once they are within 750 kiloglides out from the station, the space station is enveloped in a massive fireball, nothing remains. Sludge immediately grabs the microphone and speaks to the voice.
"This is Wing Commander Sludge. We are en route to Toxus One now. We should arrive in ten minutes time. We will intercept vessel once we have unloaded cargo and in orbit of Toxus III."

Onboard Sludge's ship, Cryer and Rusk stand at the window and watch as the space station is obliterated by the explosion, making them both gasp. Once that's taken care of, the pair are unsure of what to do next. Well, Cryer is anyway. Rusk rubs his hands together with fiendish delight thinking of all the simoleons that Sludge is going to pay them, and is actually bold enough to attempt to socialize with the Stormtoads aboard.
Cryer, meanwhile, is more reserved. Marsupial's threats have left him feeling hollow, wondering if he did the right thing. His entire reason for betraying the entire planet to the toads was so that he could avoid dying for what he believed to be a lost cause, for he feared death more than anything, but Marsupial saying he would be executed if caught made his blood run colder than the toads he was currently sharing a ship with.

* A small area of space seems to bulge and stretch, bolts of energy crackle through the void and then light becomes bent around an invisible fulcrum in space... suddenly the fabric of space seems to snap beck into place and where the strange distortion was floats a battle damaged UAC frigate with its weapon ports open... the markings on the hull reveal it to be the UAC Valiant *
"Frell... we're too late..." Groans the captain as he gazes in despair through the cockpit window. The captain of the valiant is, like his crewman ensign Whitehind, a hare. He is tall and slim with brown fur... however unlike many of the idolised hare heroes he is aging, with little agility. In his age he relies more on his ability to command and his almost prescient instinct. "Ensign whitehind give me a brief report".
The ensign is manning a comms and tactical analysis station... filling in for the crewmen incapicitated or reassigned as a result of a toad ambush on their way to warren.
"There appears to heavy fighting on the planet surface sir, there are large numbers of toad warcraft in planetary orbit... this doesn't appear to be a usual toad assault but an occupational force... they're taking over Warren!", The ensign looks at his captain who seems calm, collected and indifferent to the suggestion... he merely signals to proceed. "I... I can't find any trace of the orbital dry dock sir... the ferrous scanner is detecting large amounts of debris! They've destroyed the station sir, they must have killed hundreds of mammals!"
"And destroyed the prototype battlecruiser...", states the captain deep in thought.

"Enemy craft, you are within Toad Territory," booms Sludge. "Surrender now and we shall spare you. If you resist, we will kill every prisoner on board this ship as well as you."

Standing, I assume, on the bridge with Sludge instead of being down with the prisoners, Cryer and Rusk exchange uneasy glances at this announcement, Rusk scratching his head in mild confusion.

Sludge turns to Cryer with a grimacing smile. "Cryer, are you any good at cutting people's throats?" he grins evilly.

Cryer, standing with Rusk at one of the viewports looking out at the nearby Valiant, suddenly turns to Sludge, his eyes widening. "Wh--what?" he says. He looks down at his feet, not daring to meet the Wing Commander's gaze. "I--I don't know... I've never h--had any practice, sir."

"Stop your snivelling, Cryer," Sludge frowns. "If you're any good at firing a gun, then you can certainly slash a mammals' throat, but not unless the Valiant does anything stupid of course."
Sludge steps over to grab a penknife with huge, sausage-like fingers when his hand moves over to a folder nearby. "There is always this assignment," he murmurs.

"And what assignment is that, sir?" Cryer asks, following behind Sludge. Rusk remains at the window, smooshing his face up against the glass as he looks out at the Valiant.

Sludge grabs the folder with his chubby hands and hands it to Cryer. "My agents have gotten wind of a new Auxiliary Defence on Genus, something called the Genus Military Railway." Sludge belches.
"It is mainly used as a backup for the Genus Home Guard, but the Railway is restricted to a small military depot outside the Capital. The assignment is this: Go to Genus, go undercover in the Railway Depot and get as much information as you possibly can. Can you manage all that?" Sludge asks with darting eyes.

"If you have agents on Genus already, why do you need me?" asks Cryer, anxious to get all of this over with as soon as possible. Nevertheless, he thumbs through the folder Sludge hands him. After a moment of thought, he adds, "All right. I'll think about it. I'll decide once we're safely on Toxus 1 and you've kept up your end of our little bargain, Wing Commander."

* The aging mammalian captain of the Valiant reaches over the bridge's console and activates the short range transmitter *
"Toad intruder this is Captain Chinchilla of the UAC frigate The Valiant... in response to your ultimatum I am ordering you to leave UAC space immediately, surrendering any hostages you have detained. Failure to comply will result in your complete destruction... I expect a response prepared quickly for when we contact you again... the Valiant out"
The young ensign Whitehind pauses for a moment from selecting weapons from a locker on the bridge. "Do you think they'll buy it? They can't possibly believe we can pose a threat... we're only one under-equipped and battle damaged frigate". The ensign slings a large maser rifle over his shoulder while waiting for a response.
"I expect they will not percieve a threat but we can only hope it stalls them long enough to allow a UAC fleet to arrive". He watches for some time in amusement as Whitehind straps two maser pistol holsters around his waist and secures several grenades and bladed weapons to his body on a bandolier.

"Captain Chinchilla," Sludge replies. "You forget that by destroying this ship, you will also get the entire personnel of Warren's former defence system diced in the crossfire. Unless you surrender, we plan to kill Commander Marsupial and his wife. Have time to think it over."
Turning back to Cryer, Sludge simply says. "I'm afraid my Genus Agents are incredibly incompetent, hence why we had to act fast back on the Space Station. I trust you, Cryer, which is why I'm offering you the assignment."

All of a sudden, Rusk danced over to Sludge, shoving Cryer aside and clapping his hands excitedly like a child on his birthday who has gotten a lot of presents. "Oh, oh, oh!" he gushed, hopping up and down. "Let me do it, sir! I've hated that snivelling Marsupial and his frigid ice queen of a wife ever since I signed onboard that bloody station!"
Cryer sighed, shaking his head, and proceeded to whallop the shorter groundhog upside the head with his fist. Handing the folder back to Sludge, he said, "Excuse me for a moment, Wing Commander," then grabbed Rusk by one of his ears and dragged him over to the corner, where he seized him by the front of his uniform, yanking him up, and hissed at him, "Are you insane? You're talking about giving the UAC one more reason to execute us!"
Rusk blinked stupidly, then said, "Yeah, but it's also one more reason for the toads not to!" He pushed Cryer's hands away from himself as the somewhat taller hare processed this. "Besides," he added, casually smoothing out his uniform where Cryer had grabbed him, "you said yourself that no one can beat the toads, so why worry? And anyway, I thought you hated Marsupial more than I do. How come I don't see you volunteering?"
