* On board the toad ship Whitehind is racing to find the prisoners. He rounds a corner at full sprint and fires a volley of shots into a group of stormtoads and he clubs anothr toad across the head with the butt of his rifle. *
"Where are the prisoners being held...", shouts Whitehind to the toad with the head injury... he notices the toads uniform says chief engineer on the breast.
"Th-they're in the st-storage bays mostly", groans the engineer.
"Okay", says Whitehind, "Answer this question and you'll live out the day... where is main engineering? I wanna find the generators and the engine room!"
The toad is just a engineer with no military experience and no threshold for torture or intimidation and he complies. "The generator room for that powers for the main energy weapons, non security area electronic locks and surveillance systems is just down the hall. Its heavily guarded mammal... you'll be torn to shreds, even if you're not you wont accomplish anything... the ship'll still have ballistic weapons, life support systems and bridge power-" The toad is silence by another blow to his temple. Whitehind runs off in the direction the engineer indicated.

Cryer, looking ill, addresses Sludge, "You promised me no one was going to get hurt! Now Commander Marsupial's wife's blood is on my hands as much as yours, you two-faced liar!"
Rusk, suddenly looking nervous, grabs Cryer's arm and gives it a yank, trying to pull him away from Sludge. "Easy there, Bart, now is not the time to go losing your head." To Sludge, the groundhog adds, "Hehe, what a kidder, huh? All this excitement has clouded his judgement. One second, sir."
Cryer mutters under his breath as he lets Rusk drag him away and throw him, figuratively, into the corner, where the two engage in a rather heated, but quiet, discussion/arguement.

* Whitehind arrives at a door signposted as "secondary systems generator" and, checking the coast is clear, he melts the lock with his maser rifle and kicks the door open. *
"DON'T MOVE", he yells at the two toads maintaining the machinery, "AGAINST THE FAR WALL, HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEADS!". As the toads move he circles round the room gun maintaining aim on the nearest hostage. When he reaches the rooms console he glances at the monitors... still no activity on this corridor... and then he looks up to the comm screen and he is presented with a view of the bridge and soon to be executed commander Marsupial being held at gunpoint.
As he considers available courses of action one of the hostages stirs and Whitehind spins round and taps the stud of the rifle... melting a hole in the wall about half an inch from the toads head.
Turning back to the comm station he contacts the bridge. "Toad scum this is Whitehind of the Valiant coming to you live from your generator room. Your engineers are cowering at gunpoint and i've got a dozen men here waiting for my order to deactivate the ships vital systems. However if you were to release the mammal prisoners including the ones on the bridge... that would really give me a good incentive not to kill everyone on the ship." He shoots the transmittor... it might make 'em sweat but Whitehind seriously doubted that the commander stood any chance... he was just wasted time and he knew he had to break himself away from his foolish attempts. He had no other option but to blast his toad prisoners... he had no restraints and he couldn't keep sparing enemies. He also riddled the generator with holes, running out of the room as the back up generator returned lighting (red emergency lighting) to the ships sub levels.

"Cryer," Sludge hisses. "I happen to run the show on this ship, and you'll do what I tell you. We toads don't promise anything. Such ideas have no value, now either you keep your trap shut or I'll have you in front of the firing line!"
He produces a small pen-like device from his pocket. "If we stay here we'll be discovered, so this miniaturized teleporter will take all three of us to Toxus One to prepare an ambush." Clicking the pen, the trio are teleported off the ship.

* Escaped mammal prisoners swarm all over the toad ship. The bodies of the guards who have felt the wrath of their oppressed captives litter the corridors. The few survivors are bound and secured in holding bays, except the senior crewmen who are being interrogated on the bridge. *
Whitehind steps over the buckled remnants of the bridges door and surveys the scene. In the far corner a his companion berserker baboon is terrifying/interrogating some toad captives. The commanding officer whitehind had observed is slouched in a corner sobbing into his knees as the Valiants medic tries to examine him.
Whitehind shouts to the Baboon. "Hey Brute could you radio the captain and tell him he'd better dock with us so we can get outta here before the rest of the toad fleet are all over us... tell him it doesn't look like any help is going to arrive. In fact when you've done that try to contact Genus and report to the council." Whitehind then turns his attention to the shaking mammal commander. "Excuse me sir I need to ask you a few questi-"
"Marsupial... don't call me sir it's Montgomery Marsupial from now on... im retiring after i've debriefed... my poor wife, the most innocent and loving mammal, murdered... it's all might fault [sob]", the ex-commander breaks down in tears.
"Im sorry si-... Marsupial. You must tell answer a few question sir, er I mean Monty, for your wifes memory. I know it's hard but i really need to know where the Captain of this ship has gotten to. The doors were apparently sealed when my men finally forced them down and the ship has been completely scanned... where is he hiding? It's like he's just vanished!", asks the Ensign... carefully yet firmly.
"Yeah [sniff] thats exactly how it happened... one moment him and the traitors were here, next second they've gone... the B******* who gave the order and the frellin' hare ******* just disappeared! I should have been able to kill them... They mentioning a planet erm... Toxus 1?[sobs]", explains the ex-commander.
"I am sorry sir, truly I am, and believe me I will not rest until they are writhing in agony in their death throes...", he pats the commander on the shoulder and stands, turning to the baboon again.
"While you're at the console Brute, could you check the Toad starmaps for a planet named Toxus 1 and plot a course for it?", the white hare only asks out of courtesy as he knows the baboon would have gladly obeyed any order he gave him.

As the conversation goes on, the radio crackles slightly as a transmission is picked up on the radio scanners, foolishly left on by the vanished crewmembers.
"This is Skydiver 2 to Control. Patrol of oceans completed on Oceanus 7, nothing to report. Will transmit message to Planet Sludge, over."

A shadow in the corner pulls out and the light bends around it. It quickly dissolves and reveals a male cat with tan fur and lavender hair. He closely resembles a male aldebaran, except for his right arm. His right arm is completely metal. He silently runs over to the console and his right eye makes a wiring sound. He pulls back a flap of fur and pulls a wire out. He quickly slides it into a port.
"INformation on Toxus One and Planet Sludege." He whipsers.
The console screen begins flashing information at rapid rate. The cat looks around as the information flashes. After a few seconds, it stops and he pulls teh cable out. It slides back up under his fur and teh flap replaces.
"Alternate mission accomplished. Should i hed to to the prisoner area or attempt to intercept toads at the locations?" He whispers as he touches his left ear.
"Head to Genus adn inform them of what you have discovered. You will have to teleport into ORwell. Your best bet would be speak with the highest ranking official there." A voice replies in his ear.
The cat nods and holds up his left forearm. He pulls back another flap of skin and reveals a small keypad. He pushes a few buttons and the skin folds back.
"Hope that hothead can get teh hares out of here." The cat mutters adn vanishes in a flash of light.

* Oblivious to the presence of the teleporting, cloaked assasin the young ensign is gazing through a viewport at the Toad fleet hanging in orbit around Warren. He slams his fist on the console in a blend of fury, frustration and heart wrenching sadness. As he does this he notices that th Valiant has become dead in the void... it's propulsion systems have shut down and fire, fuel and coolant are venting into space. *
"Oh Frell! BRUTE!", he shouts to the engineer Baboon, "The Valiants damaged and drifting! Try and reach the captain".
The Baboon begins hailing the Wrecked spaceship then turns back to the ensign. "Dere's no response! You want I take the Croaker and get de crew?"
Whitehinds gaze its fixed back on the viewport on an advancing toad double bubble squadron. "Frell! There's no frellin' time were about to blasted to atoms. Just grapple the hull and clamp it down... we'll have to tug them out of here and hope the decks are still pressurised. We've got to get to a friendly port a dump the prisoners before we can think about helping the crew... turns us around Brute we're heading full speed back to Orwell station!".
* The ship remains stil momentarily as the engines are initiated... then, to anyone watching, the shipped seemed to be stretched down the length of the hull... then it vanished as it headed at near light speed back to Orwell *

Sijinco's squadron decelerated to sub light velocities in the Warren system.
Oh dear.
"EVASIVE ACTION!"
Remnants of toad fighters and mammal transports littered the area into which the squadron had arrived. Sijinco had to yank the controls wildly to avoid floating debris. After the fighting was over whoever won would make sure that the area was clear so that their own ships were not impeded.
One of the mark 4's began firing, trying to clear a path. It's wingman collided with a hull fragment, tearing a long gash across its wing. Going close quarters with lumps of metal was every space pilots nightmare.
**** Adder.
Then they were into clear space. Breathing a sigh of relief Sijinco took a look at the navigation computer. Following Adder's trail had led them here, with a few stops on the way. The Toad assault on the planet was still ongoing, but the fleet was encountering no space borne resistance. Would Adder have gone there? Unlikely. With most of the large population centres coming under Toad control he would be found too quickly. Away from population centres he would risk discovery by mammals, and Sijinco doubted that he would be very popular. Warren's moon... that was possible. The fleet seemed to be ignoring it.
"All ships report in."
A series of okays. That was a relief.
"We're going to try looking for Adder on Aodh. If he has surrendered to the mammals we will call in support from the invasion force."
She set the ship on autopilot and called up information on Aodh.
