OOC: Ah, I was wondering where he'd gone to.

"Thanks Commander, that's a very good decision... for all of us" says Fritz "All that you need to do is carry out your life as normal, go to work, report to your toad superiors every so often etc.".
Fritz passes Renfield a folder with the UAC seal on.
“Send them this information first. Its just some minor transport movements” Fritz explains casually “Just to let your bosses know your doing a good job. Hopefully it’ll make them more receptive to further information you ‘obtain’, and obviously if you hear of any important toad plans I want you to inform me... remember that you're loyalty should lie with your people, not to Komplex”.

"Yes, sir," Renfield said, accepting the folder and opening it up, thumbing through its contents, feeling much calmer now than when he first came in. "I have to admit, Wing Commander Sludge hasn't exactly been taking much of an interest in my work..."
Still, one thing was nagging him. "Fritz, uh, if I give these to the toads, won't our people-- er, that is, UAC personnel, be captured or killed?"

"Hopefully that won't be the case, but their capture is integral to the plan" explains Fritz "I'm glad you're showing compassion though. If you notice one of the bottom sheduled flights, recorded as 'Official shuttle', that's my ship. Hopefully the release of my flight plan will be too tempting for the toads to ignore and will allow me and the crew, a select group of soldiers, to get in close proximity to some very high ranking Toads".

"Wait," said Renfield, "you're willing to allow yourself to be taken captive? The toads might execute you!"

"It's a possibility," replies Fritz, "But I doubt it. How often does a UAC Chairman fall into enemy hands so neatly? Besides, the officials I'm targeting won't be present at the interrogation of a normal prisoner".

Renfield nodded. "Well, I, uh, I'll do my best, sir," he said, stand and tucking the folder under his arm. He looked both shaken and relieved at the same time as he extended a hand towards Fritz for a shake.
"Thank you, Fritz," he said. "Thank you for giving me this chance to make right what I've made wrong... and for not holding, uh, what I am against me. I'll try not to let you down, and you can rest assured that if anything comes up I'll report to you."

"Oh, um, if you've finished, could I have a word, Mr Chairman?"
Professor Simmons voice comes from the back of the group of guards. He tried to push through, but the guards (who are a bit bigger than him) seem somewhat disinclined to move.

Fritz shakes Renfields hand and then, upon hearing his voice, gestures to the guards to move aside to admit Simmons.
"Hello Professor," says Fritz, "How can I help you?".

The guards’ part and Simmons approaches the chairman’s desk.
"It's a bit complicated, Mr Chairman. I was supposed to be giving a demonstration of the particle beam rifle at the admiralty, but there was some sort of attack and most of the admirals... well, they weren't there. I went to check that the prototype was safe and was taken prisoner by Mr. Renfield here. I need a palm scan from Admiral Blade to get at the prototype and I don't even know who that is. I was wondering if there was an opening in your diary that would permit you to attend a rescheduled demonstration. Since you will be the one who decides whether my weapon gets the go ahead."

Renfield nodded and smiled, suddenly reverting back to his old self, or at least the sid eof him Fritz and the others were used to seeing.
He chuckled. "Yes, the palm-scanner on the box apparently won't take anyone's by Admiral Blade. It, uh, shocked me when I tried to do it."

Fritz smiles warmly and gestures to a chair at the desk.
"Take a seat, Professor. You could have a problem as, I think, Admiral Blade is currently on Orwell orbital station. He could be gone for days... how soon can you have the weapon ready for a demonstration? I could get a technician to hack the palm reader... or would you rather wait for the Admiral?".

"Well, Fritz, if you won't be needing anymore I suppose I'll go," Renfield said, pointing to the folder. "I'll take a personal star cruiser to Toxus One and deliver these to Wing Commander Sludge personally."

"Thank you"
He sits.
"The weapon is ready; all I'd need would be the use of one of your firing ranges and... maybe an hour? I can wait for the Admiral -maybe do some sightseeing?- if he is the fellow who needs to see it."

Listening in and waiting for Fritz to dismiss him, Renfield idly wonders if he should also tell Wing Commander Sludge about Simmons' weapon. Of course he had no intention of actually turning the weapon over to the toads, but he couldn't help but think that it'd be good bait for a trap in the future.
