"So... where do we look?"
"Got me. Anything on the scanner?"
"Oh, yeah, plenty. Just can't tell what's Toad and what isn't."
"Is he carrying anything we could track?"
"What do you think?"
"How inconsiderate. Right, start searching. Gibson you're with me."
Sijinco leads Gibson towards the rock spire that Adder had been using as a vantage point.
"Let's see how big this place is, shall we."

Adder didn't dare to breathe. He was so frightened, that he could just scream.
Keeping quite still, Adder didn't move a single muscle, in fear of jarring a rock loose and alerting the troops on the ground.

The two aircrew reached the top of the peak. Sijinco didn't think that the strange blue jungle looked better from higher up.
"Aren't plants supposed to be green?"
Gibson shrugged. He wasn't the chatty type.
"They can't be photosynthesising. What are they feeding on?"
She turned away from the jungle. Rock, she was comfortable with.
"Maybe it'll make Adder easier to spot? Any luck with the scan?"
"Life close by. Could just be moss though."
"Lets go and see. If it is moss, maybe the scientists will want a look at it."
They walk over to near the crevasse where Adder is hiding.

Oh, s***! Adder thought. They'll spot me for sure! But if that's the case, there's no option but the river!

"Yep. That's moss alright."
They looked at the moss. It was unarguably moss, though the Science division would probably have some long and fancy word for it. What could be said? It grew on rocks. Gibson drew his knife, chipped off a piece of rock and put it into one of the pouches in his suit. As he turned to walk away his suit light briefly illuminated the cowering Adder.

Adder tried his best to hide from the light, but if they had spotted him, then it would be too late.
Just now, he could see himself being dragged by the arms back to Toxus One with his legs in shackles. There, he would cower before the new commander (Who he assumed would be Toadborg) and be sentenced to death without a fair trial.

"Wait. Did you see something in there?"
Sijinco was looking at the crack in the rock. Gibson shook his head, but moved so that his light was shining down on where Adder had been.
"Could it have been a creature from this planet? Are you sure that you can't scan it?"
Gibson shrugged.
"Call Marrik and Conrad over. If it is a local beast we might need the help."
Sijinco tried to fit into the gap, but her suit was too bulky.

"P...Please," Adder whimpered, loud enough for the others to hear. "Don't bring down anymore troops..."
He showed himself with his hands up. "I don't want anyone to get hurt," he shivered, looking as though he were battling with his emotions. "But I can see that if they are so desperate to have me sent back, it seems as though the executioner is getting impatient, I take it."

To Sijinco it sounds like Adder is babbling. She puts it down to breathing the strange atmosphere.
"Oh! Sorry sir, I didn't realise that it was you down there. Are you stuck, or can you get yourself out?"

"No, I can get out fine," he moved out to prove it. "Why are you still wearing the spacesuits? The air is breathable, and it is no different to how we breathe on the Homeworld."

Sijinco moves back from the crack to give Adder some room. She takes a moment to look around at the purple canopy below, and the light shining from the yellow crystals embedded in the cavern walls. Not somewhere she would want to breath.
"Just in case sir, just in case. If you wouldn't mind accompanying us back to our ships sir."

"Very well," Adder gulped. "Just promise me that I'll be given a fair trial when we land."

Sijinco led the way back to the flooded entrance to the cavern. Marrik and Conrad were already waiting for them.
"I... probably wouldn't worry about a court marshal if I were you sir. Conrad, go and fetch the officers space suit."
"Right you are boss."
Conrad dived into the water, and after a few minutes returned with Adder's suit.

Slipping on the spacesuit, Adder looked at Sijinco.
"No court martial?" he scoffed. "Don't tell me that Lt. Innes has gone soft!"

Gibson dives into the water, followed by Merrik.
"She didn't say anything about a court marshal to me sir. She just said to pick you up. Would you mind going next sir?"
