"Vernita," said Renfield, eyes widening. "Oh, I'd almost forgotten about her." Then, as though he was very eager to change the subject, he snapped his fingers as if to say, "Aha!" "All the snake fellow said was that Stirling and her companion where to be 'gifts for the Dark Mistress' or somesuch nonsense before they teleported away."

"You know more about Mammal legends than I do, Renfield. What is your verdict?" asked Padd, scratching her chin.

He shrugged. "No idea. But I have this gut feeling that the snake will do our work for us." Renfield couldn't resist a smirk.

Padd suddenly caught Renfields' drift and grinned with the same thought in mind.
"With that in mind, maybe we should concentrate on Miss Lapis."

At this point, Wadman the bulldog came running up, skidding to a halt in front of Padd and Renfield. He was panting, out of breath. "Sorry I'm late, I got the call, about the incident here. Your okay, Mr. Renfield?"
"Fine, no thanks to you," said Renfield. "Where have you been?"
"I was, er, following Vernita Lapis," answered Wadman. "I tailed her to her apartment, but she ran and gave me the slip. I thought she was headed here but I lost her."

Padd rubbed her eyes in disappointment and sighed angrily.
"Renfield, I respect that you play a vital role in the Empires' position, but I am beginning to question the efficiency of your agents." Padd grumbled as she stopped rubbing her eyes.

"As a matter of fact, so am I," Renfield said, and turned to glare at the three mammals behind him, who all gulped nervously in unison. Then, blinking, he turned back to Padd. "By the way, where are the other two? They're the stupidest ones of all!"

"I asked them to carry on monitoring the railway," Padd answered. "Both to keep them out of harms way and also to keep an eye on our old friend, Thomas the Tank Engine."

"Oh, that thing," said Renfield, grumbling and massaging his temples. He wondered whether he was losing it from the stress. "We'll worry about that later. Right now, I wanna focus on getting Vernita Lapis and shutting her up if you don't mind."
OOC: Any sign of Plushielove, btw...?

"That is if these dunder-heads have enough ability to do so. Because you know what'll happen to them if they don't." grumbled Padd, and made a slicing motion with her neck.
OOC: None, I'm afraid.

Renfield's ears perked up as he heard voices. One of the modern medical marvels worked by Professor Wartmon's surgical team enabled him to hear by connecting the large hare ears to his toad earholes. "Someone's coming," he said, certain that Padd heard it, too, but not wanting to look slow on the uptake, especially in light of his recent screwups.

"In the bushes, quick!" hissed Padd, shoving Renfield in the bushes along with the others, before moving into the hedge herself.
"And you say this is the last place where you saw Sith?" Lady Death asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Hey!" Renfield yelped as he was suddenly pushed into the bushes. He stayed still and quiet, though.

"Yes, I fought him right over here with the aid of Din." SIth said pointing towards some mangled bushes and tore up ground. "Then he sank into the ground over there."
He pointed to a darkened patch of grass.
Din, who had heard teh yelp, chuckled and looked around.
"Sounds like someone is taking advantange of an empty park for a rmantic interlude." HE said and gently elbowed Charlene, pointing towards soem bushes.
