"I did," whispered Emily as they followed Lt. America. "He obviously cared for her a lot."
"I'm missing out the second floor as it's no different to this one," Lt. America mumbled, and opened the door into the third floor.
There was just one light working on this level, and even that was dim. Everywhere they went, there was a rank, pungent smell of decay and death. Lt. America pointed into the one office, and there lay a rotting corpse that had decayed to a point beyond recognition. There were flies buzzing around it, and the smell was so strong that nobody could get close enough.
"That...was...Corporal Victory, the last advocate of superhero rights to come to the city, and the first to die. The torture the UAC put him under makes even me sick! Every time he back-talked them to put across his views, they cut off one finger per point. When he arrived, he had only one thumb left on the one hand. They called him things like Super-Scum and Non-Conformist ******," Lt. America shivered after hearing that word.
"He was given food, but very little. They whipped him in the cells when trying to get information out of him. They thought he was leading a resistance group to overthrow the UAC, but that was pure fiction! If there was resistance, I'd have joined up years ago. But in the end, the Corporal was so weak that he collapsed three days after the doors were sealed up."
OOC: I'm sorry to have said "******" if I offended anybody.
IC: Lt. America led them out of the room and to a cupboard just outside. It was unlocked, and the Lieutenant opened it up. Inside (covered in cobwebs) were six tins of baked beans, three mouldy lettuces, some cheese, a tin of tea-biscuits and some cooking fat.
"That is the amount of food the UAC has put on each floor for all the towers. Tell me how a tower filled with 500 superheroes were supposed to survive on that."
Lt. America just nodded and led the group down the corridor, past several empty offices (some with a few corpses), to a small room at the very end, where a female tiger in a purple suit was sitting in a crouched position. She looked up as the group approached.
"Lieutenant America? What brings you here?" she asked in a throaty voice.
"These are outsiders who've come to help us," the Lieutenant introduced the group, and then turned to them. "This is Miss Aniverse; and was the most beautiful girl on the planet."
"Until my laringytis came in," Miss Aniverse interrupted. "And because they didn't leave any medicine or anything to ease the pain, I have to live with it."

Din nodded adn reached into his pocket. He pulled a dull white pill and handed it to her.
"It is a mix of mint and mother in law's tongue. It will reduce your voce, but teh mint will help relax your thraot to start healing. We're here to get you out. I am able to break teh seals." He explained as he knelt before her.
Nick nodded to her and looked at Emily.
"That name rings a bell, ut i can't place it." He said quietly.
Miss Aniverse accepted the pill, but overheard Nicks' remark.
"I wiped out half of the Toad fleet stationed at Croakus before being shoved into this decrepid tower," she murmured. "When the press were nosing about, the UAC treated me fairly. But once the cameras were switched off, the UAC said I was just an interferring little b*tch."
She swallowed the pill and tightened her lips as it began to take effect.
"And just how are you going to get every superhero alive out of the city? The railway won't be much good, and the UAC will have your guts for garters when they realize what you're up to." Lt. America murmured.

Din looked up and grunted.
"I have a friend who can help out and he isn't part of the UAC. IF teh UAC wants my guts over this, they can have them, if they can get through my skin. I am sure if a Terror Toad, a Void Driod, or even Toadborg couldn't, I don't think the UAC can." DIn said flatly.
