Sonic X: Girl Power - Part One
Chapter One: Mobius
The search had been going on for hours, and the light was beginning to fade as Mobius's sun sank slowly on the horizon. Everyone who had been hunting for the boys was worn out from their efforts, and everyone had now regrouped to discuss their finds.
It had happened just a month or so after the Master Emerald incident. Back then, only Rogue and Mac had gone missing. Now, Mobius had suddenlt become deficient in her male population. Almost overnight, the majority of the boys had disappeared off the face of the planet. Knuckles, Tails, Shadow... only Sonic had not vanished, and Amy Rose was taking extra precautions to make sure he didn't.
"Are you sure this is all necessary, Amy?" Sonic asked in an uncomfortable voice as Amy turned the last screw on the metal bars over the windows. "I mean, it doesn't look too friendly, does it?"
Sonic cast his green eyes over the safety measures that Amy had made to his home. All the windows were now barred, the doors were triple-latched, and an elephant pit lay covered with garden waste at the front of the house. Amy turned a determined eye over to the blue hedgehog, pointing with the screwdriver in her hand.
"You listen to me, Sonic the Hedgehog," she snapped. "You're not convincing me that every last guy on the planet has sneaked off to some secret stag night!"
"I never said they did," Sonic replied defensively.
"I know, but I'm pretty certain that they're in trouble somewhere, and I'm gonna make sure that the same doesn't happen to you! OK?"
Sonic said nothing, but sighed defeatedly. Satisfied, Amy returned to her work, turning the last screw on the bars, before turning back to admire her work with pride.
But Sonic was nowhere to be found.
Chapter Two: Anti-Mobius
"Where the f*** is he?!" Fiona roared, pushing the table over in a fit of rage. The contents of the table spilled out across the metal floor, with the others watching Fiona with a mixture of surprise and interest.
"You can't expect him to tell you everything, your highness," Alicia sneered, brushing aside her quiff of red hair. "He certainly never told me anything,"
"No, he wouldn't, would he?" Fiona thundered. "Not after you dumped him when he gave you the clap!" A paw clasped tightly around Fiona's neck, as Alicia snarled angrily at the sharp-tongued vixen.
"You watch your mouth, your highness," she hissed icily. "And in case you haven't noticed, it's not just Scourge who's disappeared! Take a look around, princess! Tell me where you see Patch, or Miles, or Boomer! Do you honestly think I give a flying f*** for one green hedgehog?"
"Well, I do!" Fiona snapped again after breaking free. "You couldn't be bothered to look for Rogue when she went missing, so I'm not at all surprised that you won't get off your fat a** and look for your team!"
"Want a bet, girlfriend?" Alicia smiled sickly. "I'll show you..."
Chapter Three: Mobia
From a cave in the mountains, Shada gazed down on the city through a pair of binoculars. At this distance, the city seemed unusually quiet, especially after the events of the day. Sonica had almost turned the city upside down looking for Andy Rose, as had Nails the Echidna when looking for Roger the Bat. Now, though, there was nothing but stillness.
"Anything?" Mac asked after emerging from the cave. Shada turned to look at him with a slight frown on her face.
"It's quiet. A little too quiet for my taste," she responded, handing Mac the binoculars. The squirrel made a terse glance of the landscape before handing them back.
"Any thoughts?" he asked. "I mean, it's hardly going to be some secret stag night, is it?"
"No," Shada shook her head. "It's difficult to tell what goes on in a man's mind when the man you hang around with isn't from this planet,"
"Do you suppose that's why I haven't been taken?" The squirrel's question was acknowledged by a raising of the hedgehog's eyebrow, as if to say "duh".
"Strange how people only appreciate things when they're not there," Shada monologued, staring down the plateau at the city. "We don't really notice men around here until they all vanish,"
She turned to look at the squirrel, who had suddenly disappeared, as though he had never existed.
Chapter Four: The Mastermind
From the darkness, a pair of lips smiled sickly at the computer monitor before them. The screen had been split into four seperate squares, showing four alternate versions of Mobius simultaneously. On all four screens, the women of each world were discussing in strained voices and worried expressions.
"That's right," purred the lips in a sultry voice. "Run around like little mice, my sisters. You shall soon learn..."
