Hey, we already have a thread about the BOH Famicom Game...why not one about the Arcade Game? Screenshots can be found here and hereI remembered playing this at Chuck E Cheese's when I was around 13-14 and overall, while I felt Konami at the time was generally capitalizing on the 2D Scrolling Fighter genre with Bucky O'Hare as they had with TMNT and The Simpsons (to Konami's credit, though, Bucky and crew still carried Maser blasters which is primarily their main attack, which made the game feel different from TMNT and Simpsons), I liked the game. Good feel about the BOH setting, and the Toads are hilarious at times. Not to mention, like TMNT and Simpsons, all the characters who get speaking roles in the BOH Arcade game actually speak and caption proper English! (unlike the tons of mistranslations we tend to see in the Final Fantasy games before...) I'm not sure if they're actually the same voice actors in the actual Bucky O'Hare cartoons, though...I wouldn't really know... Out of the four characters you can play as in this game (Bucky, Deadeye, Blinky, Jenny), I liked Jenny the best; her Homing Blade-ish ability is very useful... So what do you think about it? -Cyb

The arcade game ROCKS! I first found it in an arcade at a local ice rink and yes I played as Deadeye but at the time I only reached level 2, but I found it while on vacation six years later and boy did I do well - I reached the Toad Star!

I don't suppose there are any ROMs of this, eh? Didn't have any of them around here... atleast I don't think they did... I would've been too short to reach the controls back then anyway.

I don't suppose there are any ROMs of this, eh? There are, actually. For MAME. I've played all the way through the game using the emulator. I've never seen one in person, either. -Rygar

Why haven't I ever seen THIS in arcades. Just looking at those screenshots, it kicks the crap out of the NES game. All the animation an everything. Do you get to fight Komplex? Thats too awesome. For a show that didn't get to have very many seasons on TV it sure had alot of merchandise.

Hehe. The original arcade board is LUDICROUSLY hard to find. Unlike every other Konami game board, rather than being released as seperate games for two and four player versions, it came with a set of Dip switches for two, three or four player mode. If you check the UK Ebay site tonight, you'll find the auction for my Konami JAMMA board. I hate to see it go, but I gotta pay the rent. And yes, Jenny was the coolest character. The voice actors are different but do a great job - also, there are subtle differences in the character's builds. And am I the only one who thinks that the ending sequence is the most beautiful ending to any arcade game ever made? (also, I can't figure out if Jenny's voice is that of a woman's or a man's - likewise with Bucky. Maybe they're the same person?)

Also, if my monitor's not too screwed-up, Jenny's fur either has a blue tint, or Konami saw fit to use blue as shading. Slightly odd.

Thanks to the MAME emulator, I could play it. Finding it was tough, before i could load a decent ROM for it. The best thing is the detail graphic really allows for referencial piccies nyeh heh heh.

Well Pow, if you feel you need reference pics I almost got ya covered at the photo site that Rygar set up. I have paid attention to try and get any pic that looked like it would be of use for drawing reference (*Cough* Jenny *Cough* Almost frame by frame *Cough*). My last batch of stills are some of my better ones as the tape I got it from was on higher quality record than some of the other episodes got. Do drop by and have a look, you might find what you need.

Ryan Lewis well, I do use it recently, to get pics of several characters. though er.. *cough* Jenny *cough* looks different when I *cough* draw her (goes for other characters too, anyway)... XD BTW Ryan, have you ever post a picture of aldeberan's symbol? jut wondering.

Well, I can say for sure I never posted the symbol of Aldeberan, mostly because I did not know there was one. The "offical" TV series did not show one as far as I know, best I have are some stills of the architecture used in the Artificers of Aldeberan, and I did not see any overtly obvious symbology on any of them.
All the characters look different when I draw them too, but I guess that is not such a bad thing. There is some really horrendous work done in the animated series, I have never seen such shoddy work. Lines that squirm, reverse-colouring and other mistakes abound in almost every episode. Most of your pics seemed to shift the characters in a more "human" direction. Your "Club_Rules" pic on your DeviantArt site is the one I am most happy with personally, just what the animators should have been aiming for. By the way, ever going to finish that one pencil work with Willy and Jenny on the bicycle?

Ah crap. I made a human anthro Jenny for the new BOH comic. It's almost done so changing it now will be a horrible thing to do. XP The Jenny on bike... *scratches head*er, I lost the sketch , bummer.... maybe I'll make it again for the DA site. Um, about the architectures of Aldeberan, you got any posted up?
