Moving back to the election, and trusting in Rygar to deal with the problem...
Yesterday I got my postal vote confirmed. I'm going to be at university during the election and I don't really want to go home for the day. Plus, this means that I get to vote in a constituency where the Liberal Democrats can win and Labour can't.

Mr Cheese. Are you from america? Because last I heard America was a free country where peopel are free to say whatever they want. They can give their own opinions. It even applies here where I live. If I want to go to a cartoon site because I'm a fan of it or whatever reason. I can do it without fear of the police coming in and arresting me or something like that. And last I checked, Europe is a superpower. One of the greatest countries I've been to. I do admit that America is the greatest country I've been to. But over there, there are ful of racists and people like that. Whenever I watch these movies about life. There's always a colored or foreign man being put down because of what he/she is. There are many colored people or foreign people who are greater than each of us here. The way I see it, you can't stand the fact that other people are at your country. If I was a racist, I'd be a racist of people like you, Cheese. But I'm not a racist, because its just anpther form of rejection in this world. And the thing about the Saints, all Saints are great, they'd have to be to become a saint. If your questioning a person being a saint, then your questioning the will of the one up there. All these insults are OK if you do it to me, but if you do it to my friends, or other people, that is the time I will step up and fight. But I know that at the end of this, I won't lose, even if you think you've won because I will be the one who stood beside his friends at their time of need. And you will lose no matter what, because you will be the one everyone hates. You may think I hate you, but I pity you, because of the future that awaits you if you don't change.

Too late.
Oh well. Anyone see 'Election Unspun: Why Politicians Can't Tell the Truth' on channel 4 last night?

Nope. Was it interesting? Did it have anything worthwhile to say?

Yeah.
It seems that the Conservative party will only cut taxes by 4 billion, not 35 billion. 4 billion across a country is next to nothing.
All parties are saying more or less the same things because they are all targeting the same people and know a disturbingly large amount about them. Messages are tailored to the people the party needs to win over, and so old people (who most often vote) are courted while young people (who tend not to) are ignored. When a sample of political statements are read to members of the public the public cannot tell them apart.
Politicians are now less likely than ever to answer questions in interviews, and even go out of their way to avoid the potential for bad interviews by hiding from people likely to disagree with them. Only a select and loyal group of journalists are allowed in press conferences.
Important issues that need to be addressed go unnoticed because no one wants to hear what needs to be done. Cheep air fares need to be ended if we are serious about global warming. All politicians say that they want to deal with global warming, but won't risk doing anything unpopular with swing voters.

It’s a political thing, a debate about what the EU is supposed to be. Britain originally joined to take advantage of a free trade area. France and Germany want instead to integrate and cooperate on economic matters, and as a result the EU is becoming more and more like a state with a high degree of devolution, rather than a collection of cooperating nation states. A lot of people in Britain don't like this.

None of that really surprises me. I get the impression that politics is an increasingly dirty game.

It's not that it’s dirty. Dirty is requesting publicly available court records to publicize the fact that your opponents wife sited the fact that one of the reasons she divorced your opponent is that he wanted them to go to a night club and have public sex. It's that it’s underhanded. And boring.
Anyone else hear that the Attorney General’s advice has been leaked. It turns out that Blair was twisting its meaning until was twistier than a slinky.
