Gee, what a week this has been for me! Yesterday, my grandparents celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, as they've been together since 1955. Today, my grandmother (The same from the anniversary) is celebrating her 70-something birthday. Tomorrow, not only is it Independance Day for the US, but it is also my 16th birthday! So, before you all start yelling "Happy Birthday", let me yell this: HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY TO ALL AMERICANS EVERYWHERE!

Personally I thing that world history would have gone a lot better if General Howe had destroyed Washington's army when he had the chance. But thats just me.

Who's General Howe?
I heard there's a plan of blowing up an asteroid on 4th July. Did they succeed?

Don't you mean the thing about a probe shooting straight through a comet?
If not, I'm afraid I've heard bumpkiss about the destruction of a meteor.

After Richard Holmes as he put it 'made the mistake' of watching 'The Patriot' on a flight back from America he set about gathering information to make an accurate documentary about the rebellion. It was broadcast in four parts as 'Rebels and Redcoats. Interesting watching. As far as I can remember, General Howe was one of the British commanders fighting the rebels. Early in the campaign he caused Washington to flee but passed up an opportunity to completely destroy his army in the hopes that they could reach a negotiated settlement without further bloodshed. I sometimes wonder how history would have gone had the British been commanded by a harder man. I watched it a while ago and I'm not sure whether it was Howe or not.
