"It's just that he's been doing that on and off all day. I was wondering if maybe the sedative needed increasing..."
He trailed off as he saw Wartmon get behind the screen.

Kalsijj nodded and gently moved over to a dustbin, taking care as his boots squelched against the blood...and he vomitted into the bin.

"What?" asked Wartmon. "If I were you I'd get behind this thing, too, in case he breaks free. I can't guarantee that those straps are werewolf-proof."

Innes grimaced.
"I did that the first time too. Do you want to make a preliminary analysis, or shall I leave you to it?"
Berns unslung his maser rifle and pointed it at the Kaptain's head.
"I know my duty Professor. If the Kaptain breaks free I have to shoot him. I’d regret it, but the facility comes first."

"We should be fine with the samples that Qwainn has," Kalsijj answered, looking up. "But I suggest that you cordon this off in case we need to do more tests."

"What?" gasped Wartmon. "And destroy such a fine specimen? If I can figure out precisely how to isolate whatever it is Frankenstoat did, lycanthropy could be a useful bio-weapon... ack, I'm starting to sound like Frankenstoat, aren't I?"

"Consider it done. There are some Stormtoads in heavy suits just out side; I'll leave orders with them."
Innes stifled a yawn.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get some sleep. I can be reached through the Carpathian if you need anything."
Berns opts for a diplomatic reply.
"I've never met the mammal sir, so I couldn't say. But don't worry, at this range a maser rifle will make a nice neat hole without damaging the surrounding tissues."

Kalsijj nodded as he continued to survey the damage.
While Qwainn returned to the Wartbridge, Kalsijj photographed the area to see if he could get any more clues after the samples had plundered the finds.

"Oh, okay," said Wartmon, dejected, sounding like a child told it couldn't go to the toy store. "But first, let's wait a bit. We've got to give the antidote time to work. Lycanthropy doesn't permanently transform its victim, after all. Sooner or later Kaptain Staan has got to revert to normal. And when he does, have some blankets ready 'cause he's gonna be buck naked..."

Innes returned to her quarters, doffed her uniform and collapsed on her bed. Just a few hours, she though groggily as sleep claimed her, then I’ll start the reorganisation.
"No fear professor. I'm not exactly eager to shoot the Kaptain. Any idea how long its likely to be?"

"If I knew that, don't you think I'd tell you?" the scientist grumbled.

"Yessir. Sorry sir. So, do you want me to increase the sedative, or shall we wait to see if he reverts?"

"Let's wait a bit," the professor replied, "but first..."
He filled a second syringe with the mariphasa extract and stuck it into Staan's arm, injecting him with it. "Come on," he said, "work!"

Staan shifts slightly, but otherwise doesn't seem to be affected. Berns looks thoughtful.
"Could the tranquillisers be slowing his uptake of the drug Professor?"

Wartmon strokd his chin, blinking, his usual placid crosseyed expression impossible to read. "It's possible," he admitted, them slapped himself. "Why didn't I think of that? Argh!"
