"Easy as cake," smirked Renfield and he entered the cavernous Archives, standing just inside the doors as they (presumably) slid closed behind him, the loud boom almost making him jump right out of his "bunny pajamas," as Padd had so succinctly put it earlier. He approached the nearest computer terminal and turned it on, trying to bring up the Archive's database.

The Archives database came up as a search engine, reading:
PLEASE ENTER ITEM DESCRIPTION AND PRESS "SEARCH"

Renfield hummed the themesong from "The Bold and the Warty," as he typed in "Rigel III" and pressed "search."

There was only one result:

SEARCH AGAIN?

Renfield blinked. No entry for Rigel III? And why had it brought up an episode of The Bold and the Warty? He retyped Rigel III.

"Huh," said Renfield, wondering why it didn't come up in the first search. He shrugged and opened files 112765 and 2791. "All right, computer, gimme the goods." He shivered and glanced about himself at the desserted, cavernous room. He began muttering to himself under his breath. "Man, this place gives me the creeps. At least on the Homeworld there were bound to be some librarians or something. And these mammals call us detached..."

Eventually, the files came up.
RIGEL III INSTALLATIONS Rigel III is a seclusive planet, devoid of any life despite retaining a thin atmosphere. Legend has it that Rigel III was used by space pirates as a rest-stop before proceeding to Rigel VII.
The planet has been found to contain pockets of Taranium, a rare earth-metal that is partially-unstable and yet useful in atomic power-stations.
It is these pockets of Taranium that have led various UAC-affiliated planets to hold stations there. Today, there are only three that still use their bases to experiment with this fairly-new metal.
STATION WENDIGO - Station for the Wolves. Located on Latitude 145 degrees by Longtitude 108 degrees.
STATION RED-STAR - The only station linked to the Toad-Bear alliance. Location classified.
STATION PHOENIX - Used by the Canards of Canopis III. Located on Latitude 102 degrees by 46 degrees.
All except Station Red-Star are named after legends from the planets positioned there. Station Red-Star possibly refers to the failed left-wing uprisings on the Bear Homeworld.
There are no other installations on Rigel III besides these stations that exist outside the UAC. Any other research station found there is to be considered abandoned and condemned.
UAC CONDITIONS IN THE RIGEL SYSTEM With little to defend on Rigel III, the United Animals Coalition Security Council deems that a defence consisting of no more than 30 troops will be necessary to defend the planet. The troops stationed there will be given fresh supplies every two months, and will be armed with maser-bazookas. Chairman Pigton, 3221
No change to be made to the Rigel III installations Chairman Warner, 3224
I feel it disgusting that a planet should be ill-defended in this manner, but the Council clearly doesn't seem to understand my arguement. Fleet Admiral Blade, 3225

Renfield clucked his tongue once as he read over the files. "Bingo," he said. He then walked over and retrieved a blank data disk from a nearby desk (OOC: I hope this is feasible; I'm making this up as I go) and inserted it into the computer's disk drive. "All right," he said "copy all information on Rigel III in files 112765 and 2791."

OOC: No problem.
IC: It took about ten minutes for all data to be downloaded to the disc. Once it was complete, the screen read:
DOWNLOAD COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY. PLEASE REMOVE DISC TO RETURN TO DATABASE.

He breathed a sigh of relief, then removed the disk and stuck it in his pocket. He was about to leave when he remembered the first file that had come up in the search for Rigel III. Wasn't he in that episode? He quickly retrieved another blank disk and inserted it into the computer. "Copy file 11792," he instructed the computer.

The computer did as it was told, and as the disc was completed, the search for The Bold and the Warty suddenly became obvious. A microphone was attached to the computer to record lingual requests.

Grinning like an idiot, Renfield extracted the disk from the drive and slid it into his pocket, making sure to put it in a different pocket so he wouldn't get it mixed up with the first one and give Major Padd an episode of "The Bold and the Warty" by mistake. He wanted the episode simply for nostalgic value.
As soon as he had all that he came for, Renfield turned and walked back out into the main entrance chamber and pressed the button for the lift, humming the show's themesong.

The doors slowly opened, and the lift doors were opened simultaneously, beckoning him in.
