She sighs, and presses a couple of buttons on her console.
"Do you know anything about astronavigation?"

"Mm. Probably not relevant to this discussion, but useful to know. Nothing about astronavigation?"

"Oh well. I'll ask you the same thing I asked Indiana anyway. I'm certainly not getting anywhere like this. What does most of space consist of?"

OOC: Sorry for the delay. Just moved house.
"You're thinking the wrong way. What fills most of the space in a balloon?"

"That is the answer to the original question, yes. The next question is a little bit harder. Given that space is mostly empty, which bits do we actually concern ourselves with in astro navigation?"

"Basically right. Stars aren't actually very important. 95% of astronavigation only deals with travel between inhabited worlds. 19 out of 20 systems don't have small rocky worlds, let alone habitable ones. They mostly get ignored."
She presses a button on the display and you see a three dimensional model of the UAC's primary trades routes. Important systems are shown by their government's crest. Small points of light show uninhabited systems. Toad controlled space is highlighted green, cold blood space in purple.
"Last question. Given that we know they aren't operating out of the system of a UAC member world, that the Toads have as much trouble with them as we do and that the cold bloods wouldn't tolerate the competition, where are the damned pirates?"
