"They tell me that its' good for me to be inside, instead of outside where the nasty people live," Whistle Woman continued.
"They want me to play hide and seek with the other heroes. They hide and I seek. And when I find them, I kill them for not picking a good hiding-spot. The walls tell me to do it and the walls are always right."
"In a case like that, we usually just put her in a straight-jacket and lock her in the broom cupboard until they've had time to calm down. If not, we draw straws to see who gets to put them out of their misery." Lt. America answered glumly.
"It's just that...I've worked for the UAC all my life against the Toads, but after seeing this, I just can't believe it. If it were KOMPLEX, he would've probably just used them as super-soldiers, but sealing them up in a fake city just for the sake of conformity? It just disgusts me!" Emily sighed, pausing every so often to get her words right.
Lt. America just nodded and leaned Whistle Woman against the wall. He pecked her on the cheek, and moved back. His eyes began to glow a lilac-colour, and fired at Whistle Womans' head, which exploded in a gruesome cloud of flesh and blood upon impact.
"Very probably," Emily murmured. "People are afraid of anything different. And what people are usually afraid of, or can't understand, they try to destroy; that's probably what started the Toad Wars in the first place."
"It's not the first time I've killed someone," Lt. America murmured, trying to hold back the tears. "But she was my girlfriend, and I'm just glad that she's now at peace."
