Guys I dont mean to be a b*tch but this thread seems to suck the life out of the mb cause of the arguments here. I mean all the conversations before this were light and fun but this one seems to be too serious for a place where the whole point is to enjoy chattin about BoH. I know this is the others board but can we please stop talking bout heavy things. Cause it's bad enough we see it in the news or close to home for some of you and your just making it worse if you put it in a place like this. I know life isnt always about fun but why waste life on heavy topics like this in a place where we are supposed to be having fun? Think about it.

You do have a point there. I go on other message boards, Hacktivismo and whatnot, and where do I have a terrorism debate? The Bucky O'Hare message board. It’s almost funny. On the other hand, this is a thread about paramilitary violence. If you find it too depressing you can choose not to read it. Don't expect fluffy bunnies. This is not an unimportant issue. This is the world we live in, and we need to decide how we are going to live in it. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away. More likely, it will get worse for our inattention. As Marx said, the state defines crime. A killing is murder happens in certain circumstances. If a paramilitary soldier blows up a group of civilians, then that is defined as murder. It is not in the interests of the state to allow people to kill its citizens, especially at home. On the other hand, if the police shoot a man carrying a table leg, or a warplane drops a bomb on a civilian house, who cares, right? The Muslim Council might speak for the majority of British Muslims, but they cannot be said to speak for Islam in general. There are plenty of clerics who give different interpretations to religion texts than those considered most acceptable in modern society. I suppose the Christian equivalent is the way some denominations work around the issue of homosexuals and female clergy. The Bible is actually quite clear on the matter, but is disregarded for various reasons. One of these reasons is that we've come a long way from when the Bible was written and the modern church sometimes feels the need to reflect this. The night of the bombing in London there were police at Eastbourne station. I can't imagine why. Why would anyone bomb Eastbourne? The only reason for police to be there is if they were trying to catch someone, which they weren't. It is simply an over reaction.

Yes, cause if you ask me Blaze has a point. It's sucking the life out of the mb. You guys who love this thread so much can hate me if you want because honestly this is beginning to p*ss me off seeing how this thread is going on. If you ask me Blaze is right all the way. We'll choose not to read it if this thread will go on. Cause if not all of us, most of us. Came here to meet new people, find out stuff about BoH, Talk about stuff related to BoH, get to know the members here, learn from them, start a new hobby which is fan fic writing or fan art, and to simply have fun. Not to talk about a topic as deep and dark as this.

I only created this thread as a newsflash, I had no intention of turning it into a debating society.

Indeed so, and after Rygars' note, I think it best if we drop this post for a while.

Very well then. My last word on the issue. The BBC Radio 4 program The World At One ( at the bottom) interviewed a lawyer dealing with fifty cased of torture and death in custody. These are the techniques that we are fighting with. We are killing innocent people, and far more of them than our enemies. In London 60 die in a one off attack. In Iraq, 800 DIE EVERY MONTH.

The latest in the American Tropics. Emily now a Category 3 hurricane 5:49 p.m. ET Thu.,Jul.14,2005 Alan Rios, Meteorologist, The Weather Channel Emily, now a Category 3 hurricane with 115 mph winds, is past the Windward Islands, tracking west-northwest at a good clip across the southeastern Caribbean Sea. The center of the hurricane passed over Grenada during the overnight hours, but reported winds were below hurricane strength. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the north-central coast of Venezuela and offshore islands plus the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. A new tropical storm warning has been issued for the Dominican Republic/Haiti border to Port-Au-Prince. During the morning, Emily's tightening circulation and rapidly falling pressure were two signs of intensification. It is expected to continue to strentghen into a category 4 as early as Friday. All interests in the Caribbean and along the north coast of Venezuela should closely monitor the progress of Emily. Elsewhere in the tropical Atlantic, an area of low pressure midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles has some potential to develop into a depression during the next day or so as it pushes westward. It currently appears rather unimpressive, but some thunderstorms continue to fire near the low.

Not that I mind, but shouldn't this be a new thread?
I can imagine that it must be frightening to live in an area regularly frequented by hurricanes, especially in fragile accommodation.

There is nothing that says this thread is only for red alerts concerning terrorism. A hurricane slamming into a coast line with people there is a valid red alert.
Good Luck Clau and DN! Hope things wrok out for the best for you two.
